The Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) at Rattan College of management& Technology is a 2-semester regular program with one year’s academic duration. The college is affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala. The curriculum is designed to provide knowledge of the core management concepts and different techniques which are upgraded to advanced knowledge and management skills. In this programme, the students will be trained to a level where they can look for job opportunities in the industry. TThe approach is to prepare the students in developing skills relating to IT and understanding the concepts related to Computers and their applications which will help them to seek careers in software industry. This programme is designed to develop the programming and analytical ability of the students. The college has excellent computer labs with fully air conditioned, spacious and 300 systems. The systems have the hi-tech configuration of hardware and software in which different software have been installed. Labs help students to brush up their practical knowledge of computer skills

OBJECTIVE:-

* To train the students in basic computer technology concepts and information technology applications.
* To enhance their career opportunities in the software development and maintenance sector in the state.
* To help the students to decide in choosing the options available if the student wishes to go for further studies.
* To expose the students to Open Source technologies so that they become familiar with them and can seek appropriate opportunities in trade and industry.
* To give hands-on to students while developing real-life IT applications as part of the study.

Eligibility:-

* The applicant must have passed Graduation examination from a University recognised by UGC.
* Applicants who have studied Computer as a subject at Graduate examination will be given preference.
